12.00pm Christmas Tree Festival at St John the Baptist Church
This year it is the 8th biannual festival and it has become a regular part of Keynsham’s Community Christmas celebrations. Many groups use the opportunity to showcase their activities with their decorations and more than 60 trees in the wonderful setting of St John’s Church create a beautifully seasonal atmosphere. In 2023 over 2,000 people visited the Festival.
During the Festival there will be music from local musicians and choirs in the Church (see more details below*) and refreshments and craft stalls will be in the adjacent church hall.Sunday 8th December*
From 12.00 pm Alison Howell plays a selection of pieces on St. John’s Church organ.
From 1.00 pm Izzy Lowe and Sian Rees play seasonal violin duets. Catherine Illing and Sian Rees play viola duets by Bach, Mozart and other 16th and 17th composers.
From 2.00 pm Key Voices: A mixed choir from The Keynsham area. They meet to have fun singing knowing that is good for them both mentally and physically and a good way to relax. They sing music in a wide variety of styles, performing in Keynsham and further afield.
From 3.00 pm West Bristol Concert Band: The band was established over 40 years ago. They are a community band, playing a wide variety of music. They like to think that they can try most things! If you are interested in joining them, please contact info.wbcb@gmail.com.
Entry to the Festival is free but donations are invited. Any profits from the Festival will go towards St John’s Church to help play its role in the Keynsham community.”

From 10.00am Bath Society of Recorder Players: The group is part of the Bath Branch of The Society of Recorder Players. They are enthusiastic players who meet monthly. They play anything from Renaissance to Jazz and would welcome new members. If you are interested, please email Meg at bath@srp.org.uk.
From 11.00am St John's Choir: The church choir, adults and children (age 5-11) sing traditional carols. If you would be interested in singing with the choir, please email samshackleton@keynshamparish.org.uk.
From 12.00pm Ali & Helen: Ali Nourse and Helen James play folk fiddle and guitar, a Christmas medley, lively and gentle folk music plus a few original compositions.
From 1.00pm Page Park Ukulele Group: A Uke group from Staple Hill.
From 2.00pm ChoirJam: A fun pop choir for adults, with groups in Keynsham, Oldland Common and Marksbury Village. We’ll be welcoming new members in January 2026, so if you’d like to see what a typical rehearsal is like, head over to www.choirjam.co.uk and book a free taster session!
From 3.00pm Eric Salter: A performance of traditional and more contemporary pieces on the mandolin.
From 4.00pm Called to be Saints Gallery Choir: A group of singers and musicians who perform hymns and psalms as heard in churches and chapels between 1700 and1850’s.

Quiz & Curry evening in aid of Friends of TREAD
Friends of TREAD provides food and educational support for some of the poorest children in South East India. Please join Friends of TREAD for a quiz, curry and sweet treats from 7pm on Saturday 4th October. Colouring Area – an area for children to colour in a bear and enter a bear colouring competition

Books stall – mainly children’s new books but we will also have an adult book written by one of our supporters.
