12.00pm Christmas Tree Festival at St John the Baptist Church

This year it is the  8th biannual festival and it has become a regular part of Keynsham’s Community Christmas celebrations.  Many groups use the opportunity to showcase their activities with their decorations and more than 60 trees in the wonderful setting of St John’s Church create a beautifully seasonal atmosphere. In 2023 over 2,000 people visited the Festival.

During the Festival there will be music from local musicians and choirs in the Church (see more details below*) and refreshments and craft stalls will be in the adjacent church hall.

Sunday 8th December*

From 12.00 pm Alison Howell plays a selection of pieces on St. John’s Church organ.

From 1.00 pm Izzy Lowe and Sian Rees play seasonal violin duets. Catherine Illing and Sian Rees play viola duets by Bach, Mozart and other 16th and 17th composers.

From 2.00 pm Key Voices: A mixed choir from The Keynsham area. They meet to have fun singing knowing that is good for them both mentally and physically and a good way to relax. They sing music in a wide variety of styles, performing in Keynsham and further afield.

From 3.00 pm West Bristol Concert Band: The band was established over 40 years ago. They are a community band, playing a wide variety of music. They like to think that they can try most things! If you are interested in joining them, please contact info.wbcb@gmail.com.

Entry to the Festival is free but donations are invited.  Any profits from the Festival will go towards St John’s Church to help play its role in the Keynsham community.”
