Youth Ministry
On the first and third Sundays of the month during term time from 6.00 - 7.30pm there is a Youth Group which is open to all young people of secondary school age (11yrs+). We usually meet in the OCT building next to the church.
We try to encourage the personal, social and faith development of the young people through a varied programme of fun activities, including occasional trips. As well as a social time of games and other fun activities, the evening includes some creative teaching and prayerful reflection on the theme of the term or something relevant to the young people.
Youth provision on a Sunday morning mostly takes place during the 11.00am informal service. On the first Sunday of the month the young people stay in church and those who would like to, take part in the service. On the second and third Sundays of the month they have their own designated group called ‘Way Makers’ during which we creatively explore different aspects of faith and what the bible has to teach us, often following the themes in the main church. On the fourth Sunday of the month, we have a Youth Brunch from 10.50am onwards in the OCT building – a chance to cook breakfast together followed by a short thought for the day.
There are important links with the wider community are via the One Community Trust, CTKS (Churches Together of Keynsham and Saltford), other local Churches and the Wellsway Academy chaplaincy.
Volunteers are essential for the running of youth activities and all our team are DBS checked and have done relevant safeguarding training. If you are over 18 and think you might like to join the Youth Team please speak to our Youth Team Lead, Pip Lovell.
There are occasional one-off events throughout the year and the opportunity to attend various Christian camps and events during the summer holidays.
