Information about our Sunday children’s work 11.15 services On 2nd, 3rd, 4th [and 5th] Sundays of each month the children meet in the Parish Hall during the 11.15am Service - after a brief time altogether in church. Ripples, Waves and Plus Ones enjoy a brief time together where we sometimes sing songs, share prayers and take a collection.Then we split into age appropriate groups where we share Bible stories, play games, do puzzles, crafts and sometimes share a snack or treat! Our Kidzone groups: Ripples – 3yrs > Reception/Year 1 Waves – Year 2 > Year 4 Plus Ones – Year 5 > Youth These age appropriate groups are each organised by a small group of teachers, helpers and parents, enabling parents to then share in the Open Door church service [approx 1 hr] until coffee time. NB Everyone who regularly contributes to Kidzone is CRB checked.
Where parents usually supervise their own children, share a Bible story, craft activity and chat together in the small Lounge or Hall. If children [initially] feel unsure about leaving parents; special ‘shoeboxes’ full of simple, quiet activities are available for children in the pews to enjoy. Also parents are always welcome to accompany their children into the groups if and when reassurance is needed.
On 1st Sundays, Festivals and during the summer holidays we only have one Sunday morning service in the church, usually at 10.30am. Then the children are usually creatively catered for either within church or in the Parish Hall.
We try to gather contact details and any other relevant information [birthday, allergies, photograph permission] as soon as possible.
At 9.30am services there is a Junior Choir, who have ‘Time out’ in the Hall, during the sermon. During the ‘Morning Prayer’ services, on the 3rd Sunday of each month, there is an extended session for all children.
